This tour is a unique
opportunity to explore Thessaloniki in a few hours. We begin the tour with a
walk around the White Tower, the cityʼs landmark, and the statue of Alexander
the Great.
Then we visit the Arch of Galerius known as “Kamara” and Rotonda, which is a
building that was destined as a temple of the ancient god Zeus, but then was
converted into the church of St. George and was declared world heritage by
UNESCO.
The Church of St. Demetrius, protector of the city, is our next stop. Very
interesting is the underground crypt, where according to tradition was
imprisoned and martyred Saint Demetrios in ad 303.
In the end, we head to the area of Ano Poli, where we explore the castles, we
visit the Monastery Vlatadon, the Yedi Kule and the Byzantine Walls.
During the tour, we can make stops at the Archaeological and Byzantine Museum.
